Walk & Talk Therapy (Central Florida)

A cobblestone pathway winding through a lush, shaded garden with large trees and dense green bushes on either side.

A grounded, movement-based option for therapy, offered in select Central Florida locations.

You’ve carried a lot for a long time. Sometimes the most supportive next step is to get out of your head, back into your body, and let therapy happen in motion.

Walk & Talk Therapy is an option for clients who prefer meeting outdoors for a therapy session while we walk at a comfortable pace. It can feel less intense than sitting face-to-face, while still offering the same evidence-based, trauma-informed care you expect from Supportive Counseling, LLC.

Walk & Talk sessions are available in select Central Florida locations. Telehealth remains available for Florida and Colorado residents.

What Walk & Talk Therapy Can Support

Walk & Talk sessions can be a great fit if you’re navigating:

  • Anxiety, chronic stress, and overwhelm

  • Burnout and high-pressure work demands

  • Trauma recovery (when clinically appropriate)

  • Mild to moderate depression and low motivation

  • Life transitions, boundaries, and relationship stress

  • Building emotional regulation skills in real time

Why Some Clients Prefer Walking Sessions

Clients often share that walking:

  • Makes it easier to start talking (especially if therapy feels intimidating)

  • Helps reduce the “spotlight” feeling of face-to-face conversation

  • Supports emotional regulation through gentle movement

  • Creates a sense of forward motion when you feel “stuck”

  • Encourages grounding and present-moment awareness

You are always welcome to slow down, pause, sit on a bench, or take a break as needed. This is therapy, not a workout.

Who Is a Good Fit for Walk & Talk

Walk & Talk may be a good option if you:

  • Feel comfortable meeting outdoors in a public setting

  • Can walk at a gentle pace for most of the session (with breaks as needed)

  • Would benefit from movement for grounding and emotional regulation

  • Want an alternative to traditional seated sessions

Walk & Talk is typically best for established clients or new clients after an initial consultation to confirm fit and safety.
